THE SUCCESSFUL SEVENTIES AND EIGHTIES - 'NATYA SAMPADA' THRIVES AND PROSPERS

1970 - Panshikar produced and acted in the social drama by Prof. Kanetkar, called 'Mala Kahi Sangaychay'. He palyed the role of Retd. Justice Devkinandan. The play notched up 565 shows in a short span but had discontinued to the death of other important actors.

1971 - Panshikar produced another historical play, 'Maharani Padmini' written by the renowned Marathi writer, Mr. P.B. Bhave. He played the role of the cruel Sultan Allauddin Khilji with great intensity and the performance was widely appreciated.
1973 - Prof. Kanetkar adapted 'Beckett', the famous English play and Panshikar produced it as 'Be-imaan'. Panshikar also played the role of Chander, which was that of 'Beckett' in the original. The play was greatly successful, later turned into a hit Hindi Film (Namak Haram). It has run for 368 shows to date.

1976 The firebrand rebellious writer Anil Barve was the latest phenomenon to hit the Marathi theatre. His play 'Thank you, Mr. Glaad' was produced by Panshikar. Panshikar himself played the role of Mr. Glaad, the sadistic jailer of the Rajamahendry Central Jail. The role earned critical acclaim for the fine and life-like portrayal of the de-sensitized, brutal jailer.

1979 Another landmark play by the Late Anil Barve, the first in India based on the subject of 'test-tube babies' called 'Putra Kameshti', where Panshikar played the role of B.K., the childless Industrialist, and presented the character as a cynic, totally devoid of emotions.

1987 Prof. Vasant Kanetkar's play 'Jithe Gavatas Bhale Phuttat' was the last in the quartet on the golden period of Maratha History. It covered the last days of Aurangzeb, Panshikar revived his Aurangzeb of 'Ithe Oshalala Mrutyu', this time as a tired and disappointed 90 year old man, nearing the end of his life. Through this role, Panshikar highlighted 27 conflict-filled years, in the life of one of the most prominent rulers in the history of India.
